In November 2016 there was an 38% decrease in the number of migrants interviewed, with a total of 812 from four MRC locations. Of the 812 migrants interviewed 316 were in Ethiopia, representing 39% of the total. November data shows 76% were men and 24% were women. 99.9% of the migrants were Ethiopian and 687 individuals (85% of the total) were intending to travel to Saudi Arabia. The number of children interviewed in November reduced to 90, from 184 in September. The location of Metema, Ethiopia, interviewed 40 migrants in November. This month 77% of the migrants left their homes for “economic reasons”. This was a reduction from September in which 86% of the migrants indicated “economic reasons” as the reason for leaving. 27% of the total were identified as possible victims of trafficking, while 6% were asylum-seekers, and referred to UNHCR.
